CWW Week 1 - Day 7 - God Is Love

Scripture Passage: Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV)

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

Devotional:

We are most definitely in a time of global crisis and you are reading this because, deep down, you know there’s a train coming. We need compassion more than ever. God’s compassion given to us is meant to be circulated around us to all we come in contact with…even our enemies.

In the midst of despair and devastation, the prophet Jeremiah finds hope in the unchanging character of God. Lamentations 3:22-23 serves as a powerful reminder of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness even in the darkest of times. Despite the Israelites’ rebellion and the consequences of their sin, God’s mercies prevent their complete destruction. His compassion is unfailing, His faithfulness enduring.

The mercies of the Lord are our refuge and strength, sustaining us through the trials and tribulations of life. They shield us from the full force of judgment, offering us a glimpse of His grace and forgiveness. Even when we feel overwhelmed by our circumstances, we can take comfort in the knowledge that God’s compassions never fail. His love is unwavering, His arms always open to receive us when we turn to Him in repentance.

Furthermore, Jeremiah declares that God’s mercies are new every morning. Each day brings with it the opportunity for renewal and restoration. No matter how far we may have strayed or how many mistakes we may have made, God’s grace is always available to us. His faithfulness knows no bounds, and His mercies are inexhaustible.

Remember always that what you did with God yesterday got you to today. This is a one day at a time, one moment at a time journey.

As we reflect on this passage, let’s consider three questions:

• How does knowing that God’s compassions are new every morning give me hope and encouragement in the midst of difficult circumstances?
• In what areas of my life do I need to rely more fully on God’s mercy and grace?
• How can I cultivate a greater awareness of God’s faithfulness and compassion in my daily walk with Him?

Prayer:

Gracious Father, we thank You for Your unfailing love and faithfulness towards us. Help us to trust in Your mercies, knowing that they are new every morning. Grant us the strength to lean on Your grace in times of need and to extend Your compassion to others. May Your faithfulness be our anchor in the storms of life, guiding us safely into Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
